EMERGENCY SPILL KITS & TRAILER

A clean lake begins with clean boating. Every boater should take responsibility and care in cleaning up oil and fuel spills or leakage. If allowed to remain in a lake or stream, oil and fuel may be ingested by fish causing acute toxicity and will kill fish eggs. Bay Mills Biological Services has both small spill clean-up kits and a spill response trailer for community members to use in case of emergencies. To learn more about emergency spill clean-up kits, contact Bay Mills Biological Services. To report an oil, fuel, or chemical spill, call the U.S. Coast Guard National Response Center 1-800-424-8802. If you feel the spill poses a threat to human health immediately contact 911.
